enginyr...these remarks aren't really directed at you. I can tell from your comments that you've finally come around.
Why would SRT come out with just an intake? They are in the business of making real products that make real horsepower...not just noise and superficial quality. You're seeing all these fustrated IS owners trying to point you guys in the right direction. I'm sure that if you are sophisticated to own a GS, that you guys should be sophisticated enough to not skimp and purchase real products.

I went with Weapon-r because of the ability to hook up the AFC-S. Plus I've heard the SRT Intake does not put out what they claim.

By the way HKG HARRIER your statement about Foam filters is total BS i used to run my KX125 with a K&N along with every other dude i know. Not only will i come back with proof that foam sucks i will show how well it filters as well.

Try and deny foam filters don't suck now, i dare you!

Along the lines of what CarbonIS300...
It's important that when something makes power...it does so along the whole power band. A lot of I/H/E and cam gears are guilty of not making real power...but rather shifting power from lower rpm's towards high RPMs. This is great and all if you have a pure race car...but detrimental to drivability in a street car.

I was out looking for what part of the SRT IS300 intake didn't pass visual in California, since I have a custom intake. I ran across these threads, and I dunno what this is all about but I gotta say something about WR. The intake is effective, but could be made of better materials. I don't mind it because there literally isn't anything out there made for my SC400.
I also have an ECU upgrade installed and tuned by Leo Now, the WR guy. As far as I can tell, it's a Unichip, has the same functions, plugs, software, so regardless of who sells it like many products they're all coming off the same assebly line. Think Toyota Matrix and Pontiac Vibe.. different continent, same product.
Starting the run (modern DynoJet) from about 3500 my lowest HP gain from the ECU alone is 21, the lowest torque gain is also just under 21. Throughout most of the powerband the gain is about 25 hp, then reaching a peak gain of about 35 hp at 5500-6500 rpm. Torque gains in the lower range are 29-30 ft-lbs and tapering off a little at high RPM. I'd scan the dyno chart, but I am scanner-less. I honestly don't know what the gains from the intake and my exhaust setup are, because the only dyno time was when the ECU was being tuned.
As a result, my car makes a huge amount more power, has tons of torque and really pulls fast through the gears. Read in the racing forum about me running down a Boxster S on I-280 in South SF.
In short, regardless of the methods by which this was achieved my car thoroughly satsifies me now. In my mind, it doesn't matter that the generic collars for the piping are too soft, or that the filter is usually used on an Integra. My engine temp gauge now sits one tick lower than it did before the intake, I KNOW the car's getting cold air, even if the intake was made from scratch. It works, and I'll be happy to give anyone in the bay area a ride if they want to feel it for themselves, hopefully we'll have another club meet soon.
Anyway, flame away...

I like the polish look over the SRT grey look, but the piping is smaller than SRT's piping. I wonder if that makes a difference on the top end side. (bigger would suck more air) RIGHT!!!!! Tell me what you think ...anyone have specs on the two?
