that wont work for the fog lights though because 9005 bulbs the part where u screw it in wouldn't go. It woudln't fit into the housing.

it does work. trust me i tried it. eigther you can file down one of the pieces. or you can take the 3 screws off of the fog light and switch them with the ones on the high beam

So what you're saying is, driving around with your fogs on , annoying the sh*t out of oncoming traffic isn't offensive enough. You want high beams in your fog housing to really get get folks torqued......(Don't say it's for better vision in foggy conditions......you just get more scatter, so it won't work as a "better" foglamp).

Sorry, no dis intended. But all those Pontiacs and SUVs with aux lights on for no d*mn good reason gets up my nose. Not that they are the only offenders.........

sorry to get you confuse but most cars have 9006 as there low beams and9005 as there high beams. barely any car's have 9006 for there fog lights. this kit was intended for the low beam not the fog lights.

Default Take it easy on the SUV guys

mooretorque,

hey man take it easy, I happen to be one of those SUV's with the 6 million watt foglights on the extremely intimidating pushbar (on my larger than necessary Expedition). And if that's not enough to mess with you I have a "hidden" Hadley stack 133dB airhorn tucked behind the grille.

Difference is I turn my aux. lights off when behind, or approaching an oncoming vehicle. Most other a$$holes won't...did I just call myself an a$$hole?

i dont understand.. why would you want to convert 9005 to 9006? or other way around?

just for so you have high beam in your low beam lights?

what exactly do you gain by doing that? i see no point.. if you want turn on hi-beam.. then just turn on high beam

also what if you need to flash someone to get your attention, you going turn on high beam and they wont see a difference between 9005 and 9005

most cars have seperate high beams and low beams there for you can still flash people. the reason why people convert there 9006 to 9005 is because they usualyl make 9005 bulbs at a higher wattage and there is not cap at the tip of the bulb. trust me its brighter.

jmai, my apologies. I saw that the conversion was meant for switching low beam bulbs to high, but then was apparently mislead by your and Sasha's exchange re fog lights. If the wiring harness will handle it, brighter low beams with same pattern is a good idea.

Mo, I should have been more clear. I'm not against lots of light (long ago, well back into the pre-halogen age, I had Cibie Z-Beams on my SuperBeetle and thought I was in lighting heaven.......) at all, the more the better. My gripe is with the idiots that use fogs/aux driving lights all the time, presumably as much for cosmetic appearance as better vision, without regard for those other drivers who may not really appreciate all the extra lumens shining brightly into their eyes. Wish I had your horn at times, too.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to rant.....

i remember sitting in the car next to my friends car once when this big dodge ram pulled up right behind him with all the aux light on and it made his car looked like he was getting pulled over by the cops. you know how they shine all the spot lights in your car and you could see everything inside. it was funny. but i would be pissed if i was infront of that truck though. imagine if they were HID lights
