It's unique, but otherwise I don't really "get" it.

Wheels are unmistakably Mercedes looking. And they look tiny!

The stance is VIP, but otherwise I don't classify this as VIP.

Question: If the owner of this car was from somewhere in the US
instead of Japan would the responses here be different?

There are at least a dozen 2GSs here on CL that are more magazine worthy.

FYI, those AMG rims do not use center caps, they are just a mercedes emblem stuck on the actual face of the rim.

I love those brakes though and would have no problem running them on my GS4, but I don't think the wheels have the same bolt pattern and I don't think making them fit would be easy....some serious spindle modification, brake booster and master cylinder modifications as well, and probably new spindles. I would do it if there was a parts list.

This is coming from a guy that spent thousands on brakes on his Mustang and had to deal with all of these issues.

you're in Eden Prairie? I'm in Burnsville.

I see you're a vendor.

I'm going to check out the vendor section and see what you have.

You have a website?

cant remember who it was on the first page now! but saying thats just how they do it there and do it right go all out etc fair enough. i'm just saying i am impressed with their ***** to do one off stuff with disregard for destroying it just driving around cause its that low!

and i understand big brakes, but if it only has an exhaust then it is a bit overkill i would have thought. i mean, you can go too crazy on brakes, but i guess theyre doing it for wow factor

I hate to say it but I think Bob is right. Had some guy in say NY or Cally shoot anywhere for that matter came on CL with AMG parts on GS. He would have gotten killed. This one seems to be done a unique way but still I ask if this car is from japan where you can have almost any of these unique jdm bodykits that are now availible over there why would you choose to go with all MB on your Lexus/toyota? I like the lines of the bodykit, that is as far as I would have gone with this. MB brakes are huge but for the money I'm sure he spent I would have gone Endless, Project Mu, or Sessions.

I give him props for the work he put into it but i can't help but ask what could have been built with those same funds.

hey bluelex and anyone else who doesn't see the originality in this... to start i thought that is why we are all here, or at least that is why i am here and i'm sure i'm not alone on this. i mod my car to be different. i'm not saying that i am trying to make my car look exactly like a car that it is not, but as different as i can from a stock 2gs right...

okay so last time i was over there (japan), the parking lot,,,, not a car meet,,, just the parking lot across the street from our weekly apartment rental hotel thing in osaka had something like '7' 2gs's and like '4' ls's out of about the 25 or so vehicles in the small lot. these 7 gs's were all modded, and all of the 4 ls's were all modded. at this time i had just purchased my 2gs about 2 months earlier so all of the sudden my interest's were peeked by this lot that not only could i see from my balcony but that we had to walk by every time we went anywhere basically... after walking by them about 30+ times i started to see the subtle differences, some had kits, some were lowered, all of them had at least rims, some had grills, i think all of them had at least exhaust tips if not whole systems. some were a little more vip some were a little more street. all in all at first glance it looked like a freakin' ls/gs car meet to me, but i soon realized that car lots like these were scattered all over the city. it blew my mind and after the 3 weeks or so we were there i was kinda sick at looking at these 2 gs that were basically at every intersection, in every car lot, and yeah.

i love my 2gs, at first for its originality factor cuz where i was living in Colorado when i purchased it there were not many of them and i think i saw all of 1 other than mine that was modded. now i live in between dc and baltimore and honestly i want to sell my 2gs and get something a little more rare and mod that motha sucka cuz there are way to many here (i'm glad i'm not in socal). we mod to be different, so why not appreciate someone who has done this here.

i agree that we would have clowned that car if it was say in nyc or la but why??? why have we gotten to this level of misunderstanding. why must all of our cars follow in the same patten and have the same mods as our neighbors 2gs who followed in his other neighbors foot steps.

well since i can see bluelex's sig block while i am typing this i will start with him/her (not sure never met em) your car is nice and pretty original here i'm sure. but if you were to live in the big leagues if you will it wouldn't be nearly as original. at every meet and every event/ show you went to you would have more than a little competition.

all the cars shows i've ever been to in j-pan were just ridicules. the gs ls combo + the q and m from infiniti were great in moderation but it just all got sickening after a while and i only started to see the ones that stood out from the rest i.e. something like this amg 2gs on this forum.

i am not japanese but i too may be a little biased cuz i lived there for a while and tend to feel more of a connection to japan in terms of aftermarket car stuff rather than the states. i just think this car is unique in a good way which is just an opinion and of course some people are going to have other opinions, but try to imagine a sea of 2gs's when you envision this one above.

i'll step away from my morning coffee now!!
