I'm getting bored of the trunk emblems. I might take off the Lexus signature and GS300 emblems, leaving the 'L'. If I do that I'm going to do the DIY chrome grill "mod" as well. I'll try to get it done by Saturday and then post some pics.
If you have a DIY chrome grill, can you guys post pics? I've seen that some of you guys have done it differently than others. I want to see which way I like best. Thanks!

1.Citristrip is what i used, it worked awesome.
2. DEFINITELY either mask off with painter's tape before applying the stripper (use a q-tip to apply, it works awesome) OR plan on masking off sharp and correct lines and repainting the rest of it later on.
3. let the stripper sit for 15min or so and then hit it with some #00 steel wool but dont use too much pressure once the paint is off or you'll scratch the chrome.
4. go at it a little at a time, so that you dont get too ahead of yourself and forget where you left off.
5. when you're done with each section spray down with a ton of water to remove any excess stripper. dry completely before you move on.
6. take your time. rushing it will only mess it up.
good luck
Wait, where should I mask off with painters tape? I don't get that part.
and if I let it sit long enough, would a cotton towel get the paint off?

mask it off if you want to make sure you get sharp lines so it doesnt look all sloppy. a cotton towel could work, but will require more elbow grease. #0000,000, and 00 steel wool will all work much better and faster.Originally Posted by shvc1991
