Default Pulling yanking following

I have the 17inch wheels with 235/45 tires, it seems like on the highway they follow the grooves of the road, making the steering yank and pull all the time, is this normal? Will the steering ECu help?

I would check my alignment. I know with one of my other cars it would kinda pull left and right and then my ball joint fell out. It wont hurt to check.

It's called tramlining. The tire has a tendency to follow any longitudinal irregularity in the road. Some tires do it more than others. The standard GS Bridgestone Potenzas are among the worst. Sometimes adjusting tire pressure can help. Sometimes the only solution is to get new tires.

The steering ECU should help reduce the effect br reducing the steering play, but the real solution lies in the tires.

Default lynnwood?

Part of your problem is very likely due to all of the people out there needlessly using studded tires and wearing deep groves in our roadbeds.

But..

When I bought my 99 911 it came with Pirelli's and it was a horrible driving beast until I switched to Michelins. Seemed to make all the difference in the world.

In South Florida as part of the road work they actually put Grooves in the road to prevent you from skidding in the rain. My old originally 17 inch Bridgestone tires seemed to have more of a problem with this than my new 17 inch Bridgestone tires. Maybe they tried to fix the problem. In this case Pulling yanking can be bad for you.

JY00, GS is very sensitive to alignment issues and tire pressure differences, both of which can exaggerate tramlining, but anywhere from 90 to 100% of the blame can be placed on the Bridgestone RE030s. Other posters like the 730s quite a bit (if you wanted to stay with Bridgestones) and tramlining is much reduced.

But the 030s got to go.
