OK, I just ordered mine, can't wait to install it.

One thing that I am not thrilled about is that this adapter (and the others too, I believe - vais, DICE) replaces the CD changer, so that I won't be able to use the CD player.

It's not a huge deal, I hate the inconvenience of the CD trays and cartridges anyway, but it would be nice to at least be able to switch over from the ipod to the CD player if I so desired - anyone attempted adding such a switchover capability?

Interesting - do you mind sharing your approach? I have NAV also, but I don't see how that helps retain the CD changer - what's the trick? .

So I put in the Grom unit last night, and all seems to work well so far...

The weird thing is that my CD changer still works, which it's not supposed to! If I hit the "Disc" button on the head unit once, it'll play the changer, if I hit it again, it'll play the ipod. Anyone else has that "feature"?

Its supposed to work. On nav models it says "CD-1" and "CD-CHANGER" when you switch between them.

Right, that's exactly what I am getting. But the instructions said that units with external (glove box or trunk mounted) CD changers, like I have, will lose the ability to play the changer! So I was pleasantly surprised to see that not be the case.
