Default Bad Day Fam

I am on my way to the airport to take one of my boys. He is going back to LA to kick with the family. We are at the red light talking about his trip and bang! I thought that my engine blew up. A lady hit me in the back. I am like D@!! I did not even get to hook my ride up. I got out and it was not as bad as it sound. I was like thank you inside but still pissed. I will need a new rear bumper.

I guess what I am really asking is there anything that I should look for? As of right now it is driving ok. I have not looked at the under body yet. Will do that in the morning. I have a GS430. I have to wait 3 business days for the police report but i think that I am going to stop by Lexus tomorrow or Monday. Just to get a early quote. Any help I would appreciate it. Thanks

I do not have any pictures right now but I will have some tomorrow! I know this may sound stupid but I was messing with the bumper and it popped back out. Have to check it out in the sun light. I will post the pictures.

I costed me $1200 to get bumper replaced and paint matched from a place the Lexus dealer goes to. Usually the dealers don't fix the bumpers... but you can ask them where they go.

There usually nothing... the bumper cover and the foam piece inside. Why file a police report? its going to show up on carfax. if you just take care of it with insurance... thats propably better

Depending on how fast the impact toyota just might replace that whole rear portion. Are any panels, trunk misaligned? Might wanna look into that too. It was gonna cost me abou 2000 to fix the rear of my honda when i got rear ended but that was on the highway. Hopefully its a lil cheaper on your part.

glad you're ok. amazingly, the second gen GS is a very safe vehicle and can take a lot of punishment.

Make sure your wheels, alignment, and frame is good. Someone hit my old Accord once and twisted the frame by 3 degrees. Alignment was off, had to re-do that. The mechanic told me the frame was off by 3 degrees and had to be pulled. Car drove all f---ed up...it was going straight but from the back people said it looked like i was drifting. LOL

Good thing everyone was safe!
