it is much harder to see at night, especially if you need to make a turn. i wouldn't do it. had a friend do it and he got into an accident trying to trun at night and got a ticket for the wind sheild then as well. i would just do the strip up top to block the sun

I have mine @ 50% and I love it. It keeps the car cooler when it's parked, it helps it cool down after I first get in, and it keeps the glare down. Night driving is fine too, as 50% really isn't super dark. It definitely keeps you from really being able to see in though from the outside unless you're right up on the window. I got used to it within a day or two. It certainly can earn you a ticket though, so take that into consideration.

I did it, on my wife's ES330. the I choose the lightest tint. it will make the exterior looks excellent. but it is hard to see at the night somehow. so you might think about this. if you just want to make your car looks better. then go for it.

I would do it but I need all the visibility I can get at night to watch for potholes.

tinting your front w/s 50% or even 43% will barely reduce visibility if any at all. a 50% tint is almost clear, while 43% is a shade darker but not by much. If you want to reduce heat and uv while protecting your dash and seats, definitely do it. If you want it for privacy and are going for something dark, i'd say that might not be a good idea.

Tinting the front windshield really makes the vehicle look much better IMO.
I'm not sure if you guys have noticed this or not, but when you see new car
commercials on television they almost allways have the windshields tinted.
So do the new car ads in magazines. They do it becuase they know it looks
better.

I used to be the window tint manager that did all the vehicles at
Schumacher Mercedes-Benz back in the day.
We used this ceramic film called Huper Optik Drei that rejects
up to 63% total solar energy which is freaking awesome if you live in AZ which is allready 95
deg outside right now.

The bad thing is that we charged the customer $700-$1000 for the tint, but
it's well worth it IMO if you want the heat rejection and want to stay legal
becuase it's only a 42% darkness level.

We had a demo where we would have super hot heat lamp and put it behind
a piece of glass with the Huper Optik film on it.... You would not feel any
heat come through the tinted piece of glass.

Anyways, alot of ballers and celebraties would request to have there
windows tinted and we would do it for them

With my old ride(blazer) I took the tinting to an extreme level.

I did (2) layers of the $1000 Huper Optik tint and (1) layer of 5% basic limo
tint. I had a total of (3) layers of film on all the sides and back windows.
For the front windshield I did (2) layers of 42% Huper Opitik film.

When it was 120 deg. outside I'd only have to run my AC on low because of
all the heat rejection I had. It was very comfortable and my vehicle was
allways the one that everyone wanted to go to lunch in at work

The down side of having (3) layers of film on the sides and (2) layers on the
front windshield is that night time driving was a bit hard.... especially trying
to make left hand turns at a intersection, I would allways have to roll the
drivers side window down to see if there was a pedestrian crossing or not

I had this setup for 4 years and never got a ticket once in AZ, I drove about
1.5 hours a day in the city streets and on the freeways.

I'd advise to get the front windshield tinted in 35% only if you live in AZ
where they dont care about tint laws.
