Default Problem...WTF???

So I shut off my car and pull the key out of the ignition, but the steering wheel does not go up (telescope) and the car makes the beeping noise as if the lights where still on. I shut the door and try to set the alarm but it will not engage. I can use the alarm button to unlock the doors but it will not lock or engage the alarm. WTF??? Any clues???

nah but seriously though i have had a few weird occurrences in the past 3 years. i seriously would classify this one as just as weird as my last one...

i was actually using the steering paddle type shifters and like an hour down the road at a light i came to a stop then tried to hit the down shift button to go to the lowest gear and it wouldn't down shift, it just beeped at me all weird like everytime i hit the down shift button. i just reset my car by pulling the negative battery line off for like 30 mins and it was good to go after that... i know this is not what your problem is but try it out and see if it works.

i do computers and whenever someones comp is messed up i tell them to restart it and 9 times out of 10 guess what happens...?

Mine did that once. I put the key back in the ignition and took it back out and the wheel went up. The car still thinks the wheel is down (which it is when beeping) so it won't engage the alarm. The key is to make the wheel go back up. I brushed it off as I just took the key out of the ignition too quick or something.

Thanks a million. I tried it several times and it didn't work. Then I giggled the key in the ignition and removed it in an upward motion and it worked... weird but what ever. thanks a bunch guys. CL does it again!!!
