oh sorry GS 300. Im hearing a rattling noise coming from that area. I took it to the mechanic today and he said i can either get it welded back on or just get a new piece. He didnt seem to know the exact name of it.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm which part of the pipe? the piping itself? the from motor back? headers to the Y or down pipe, to the cat and wahts between it is just pipng? and then to the resonator, and then more piping to the exhaust? if it's jsut a minor hole just have it welded, not really worth it to replace if it it's a minor hole.

its the heatshield that's loose and rattling, I got mine fixed by wrapping 2 metal hose clamps around it and tightened it like a maffaka. and shazzam rattle gone and no more embarrassment.

Better to try to do like Tommyjaix said then remove it, unseen effects can be had if done. Most of the time the clamps rust out, but if it is necessary to remove the sheild, do so.
