What is really the difference between these and the ones i see for 500 or so dollars?
What is really the bid deal? What would look nice on my gs3? Its a gold one..

Friend of mine have one, but left inner brake has one LED dimmer.. make them look awful...

 

Hey drewfx, I had those for a while, but when you brake, it get's brighter by only a little so it's kind of dangerous. If you're going to get these, I'd make sure you have a third brake light somewhere. Other than that, I really like how these look and they will look good on your car.

either get 01+ tails, sonar/wise tails from carson toyota, or authentic jp tails.

I personally have the carson tails and they light up just fine at night. You can find them on ebay as well. I think your link has them on it.

No need to hassle on ebay just use the l tuned site. You can google in "Carson Toyota" and talk to Luis with aftermarket parts directly. Drew, the ones you posted are actually made by Sonar.

They're a good buy for the money. If you have the time, you can get some red vinyl wrap and cut a piece to cover some of the white. It will look similar to Junction Produce tails, the holy grail of all 2GS taillights. They might also have some fitment issues. There's a thread on them on the 1st page about a fitment problem.

Did you ever think about clearing the orange? Without the orange, the 98-00 tails look pretty damn good. There's also a mod to rewire the tails so that when you reverse, the top light turns on as well. You can find the DIY on a sticky on the 1st page.
