I was riding alon tonight and i tried to switch tracks on my factory cd changer and it wouldnt work. It stopped playing for a second, so I took cartridge out and put it back in. I put it on fm and it worked fine, but i couldnt switch from cd, tape for fm2. It was playing fine and i could select preset channels. When I got home I turned car off and back on and it was fine. worked perfect. I do remember right before it did it I hit a small bump nothing out of the normal. What would cause it to do that?

Oh i have a 98 gs400 with nakamici all factory.

 

could be the changer cartridge went bad. They tend to do that a lot.

 

just get a new cartridge they like 60bucks brand new from the dealer.

 

well why would all the other buttons stop working like that. I can get cartride from sewell for i beleive 29 bucks.

 

i had a simmilar problem happen to me twice. i would change from cd to radio and they would both play simultaneously at the same time through the speakers. it sounded weird. i toyed with it for about 5 mins then gave up. it worked fine after i turned the car off. im going to take the car to the dealer since its still under warrenty any one knwo why this would happen or have had simmilar problems
