Default Whats your plan "B"??

Now that gasoline is going up like crazy (.81 cents/liter reg. here) what your plan guys? Continue using the GS4 or the Civic from your wife? Or planning to buy a more fuel economic car and use the GS for partys or week-ends?.....

I know a few of you don't have this problem because their GS is as good in fuel as a Corolla but Mine is about 17mpg combined... or +- 220-240 per tank.

Thanks God I kept my Integra (about 23mpg) and 250MPT (13gal versus 19)

plan B is the same as plan A: drive fun car till almost out of gas, go to gas station, fill up tank, pay for gas, repeat......

gas prices wont keep me from driving my car. i mean unless i somehow find myself out of work and begging for money to eat, but by that point you would hope i had already sold the thing... i have another ride thats a little better on gas (6 cyl. nissan) but i dont like driving it as much as the gs so if the weather is nice, it stays parked... hate to be brutally honest but if you own/buy a Lexus (especially one with a v8) and its not one of those h's or anything, was being economical ever seriously on your checklist of important features? is the cost of fuel really ever supposed to matter when you bothered to buy a luxury vehicle in the first place? paying for gas in a luxury car with a big motor is like owning some 100,000 dollar sports car; if you even have to notice that $2000 coming out of your account every month for your car payment (or $60 every other day for your gas), you probably shouldn't have bought it. dont get me wrong, im far from loaded, but i would definitely sell it long before something like this became a concern.

I guess replace filters and plugs (gives you a bit more kick when you need it), and adjust driving habits somewhat.

I think there is a huge psychological effect to it, knowing that only 6 years ago, one could fill up a GS for less than $18bucs.

However, I guess you can try and reduce driving, and/or try and aviod traffic when you can. If you have long commutes, you might consider a beater, as it might be more cost effective in the long run.

I doubt however altering my taste in cars unless gas prices double or something.

Well my plan B, is bust out with my Telefonica GSXR600. Better on gas than a civic, and way more fun that any 4 wheel car. Only problem, mother nature, plan B switches back to plan A every time the weather gets crappy. Either way, I don't want to replace my GS with anything, yet. I love the car, and the gas is not really bothering me to much. So what if I have to fill up an extra couple of hundred dollars more than a civic, at least I get to ride in a sporty luxury sedan, and enjoy every gas sucking mile of it.

Would you ever take out the spare? Not that the extra weight takes up that more gas, but I'm sure you'd notice it.

My plan "B's"

1. Drive a little less and try to avoid traffic conditions as others previously mentioned.

2. Drive slower and conserve on gas so when I do mash it I don't feel too guilty. As opposed to now where I drive aggressive and also mash it when I can...I have been feeling pretty guilty lately.lol. I need to make a change!

i dunno why I haven't. I have a fix-a-flat can and the scissor jacks doesn't even fit under my car.... Anybody have a solution to this for lowered cars?

my short-term plan is to sell my miata. i don't think i'll sell the GS300. i'll do what others have said, just drive the car and pay for gas. if things get really bad i'll buy a bike.
