Full service history from Lexus - Sample
I am the second owner of this car, the ball joints recently failed after I thought that they had been replaced. Today I had Lexus provide the full history report by Vin # (They also require proof of ownership).
I am not sure what a few of the items mean and what all the services might include. Perhaps someone knows how to lookup the "OP Codes" on the sheet, or what the "R/O No's" mean. I am just trying to find out what other preventative maint. I might need to do.
1 - I was going to replace my timing belt & water pump this weekend, but according to this report the 120k service has been done (Which I think includes the belt).
2 - The last item "128 Point Pre-Owned" I assume the previous owner traded in at lexus since this is the last item. However I did not buy from lexus.
Anyway, here is my report - It appears that the car was very well taken care of (Excluding the ball joints).

So the timing belt is always done with the 90k service by lexus?
The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it was inspected by Lexus at 139,903 miles and they didnt mention the ball joints needing to be replaced - they failed just over 141,000 miles.

I called my local dealer - said you must come in with the VIN and proof of ownership, no mention of charge.
Passed another dealer while out of town for work today, and I just went into service with the VIN (On my insurance card). The guy pulled it all up, explained some of it - no charge.
Along those lines if you're buying a used lexus, where the seller claims the car has been serviced at the dealer. You can call any Lexus (service dept) with the VIN prior to buying and they can provide you partial information such as the last service date the car was brought to Lexus. Specific details might be withheld but you can get some idea if the seller was truthful
They dont get too excited about printing these out for you. Every time its a different excuse. I guess they are worried you would find out the pads have been replaced recently, or whatever service was performed, which may incline you to decline a service they are advertising for you.
