CEL Code P0420
Hey guys as many of us north eastern citizens, we in NYC got hit pretty hard today and yesterday with a mix of snow, sleet and then just turning into a really bad rain storm today.
I was driving home yesterday night from work at about 2AM and there was a big puddle of water on the road i mean nothing major maybe 1-2 inches of water ( usual puddles on the highway). i went thru it at about 20-30 mph as it was too late once i saw it. now i kept driving and less than a minute later my check engine light comes on.
Now after i got home i let the car cool down and dry up at the garage and this morning i checked it with my OBD II reader and it gave me the code P0420.
I did a search and some people say it might have been because of the bad weather which i am hoping it is. what do you guys think it might be? can it be just because of the bad weather? i erased the code and reset the check engine light and so far i have probably drove the car about 30-40 miles and it hasnt come back on.
I appreciate the help guys thanks in advance

The code is for the following:
Catalyst System Efficiency Below
Threshold (Bank 1):
1.Gas leakage on exhaust system
2.Heated oxygen sensor
3.Three-way catalytic converter
I think a problem has to happen in 3 driving cycles(thats what Acura once told me) in order to throw a code so I would drive the car around a few times to see if it goes back on. You could have lossened up something hitting the pothole or some water went where it shouldn't and maybe wasn't completely dried when you started her up again. Take a look under the car and see if something got messed up.
