would any hid projector fit into my 01 gs300? for example: acura tsx or tl projector. or does it have to be the ls430 one?

It's a custom job, so anything can fit if you really want it to. The 2GS headlights can fit any projector since they have such a large opening.

The GS housing is pretty big so you should be able to fit quite a variety of projectors in there. There are people here with TSX, TL, LS430, Q45, etc.

You're probably better off doing it yourself unless you're willing to spend a few hundred dollars.

HID was optional with GS400, but standard with all GS430.

And yes its worth it. The output of most HID projectors exceeds that of the OEM HID. I had OEM HID on my GS, but got rid of it within 3 months of owning my car.

Dont DIY it if you can't inclined to do so. It's not something anyone can do. It's labor-intensive and if you mount it all wrong, you'll be blinding people like crazy.

Would you lose the auto leveling feature if you switched to a projector?

No. I still have autoleveling with my LS430 projectors.

It's really not that difficult to do, it's just time consuming. Get an extra set of headlights or bowls so you won't have any downtime. If you take your time and do as much research as you can you should be able to do it.

Hey GSteg, or any other retro expert, do you think it's possible to add a motor to make the LS430 projectors bi-xenon?

As far as bixenon LS430, I only know of one set that was custom made. The guy's name is Larry and he's over on HIDplanet. But last I heard, he got into a mess and I haven't seen him on the forum since. It would be kinda cool, but I never use hi-beam so I scratched out that idea

Believe me if you had them you would use them. I have bi-xenons but I've just been too lazy to wire them up. I can just imagine the output from LS430 bi-xenons.
