Problems Installing DICE on '04 GS300
I've done a search (albeit maybe not the correct search string). Has anyone else ran into problems installing a DICE i-Toyota-R Ipod Integration Kit in an '04 GS300? I just came from CarToys and the connectors on the cabling (provided by DICE) does not at all resemble the plugs on the back of my factory installed radio.
The CarToys technician noticed that, on the sticker inside my driver's door, it says the manufactured date was "09/03". He thought, perhaps, the radio was an old 2003 model and that, later on, Lexus installed radios with different inputs. Has anyone heard this one before?
The service tech from DICE told me that, in the process of getting an RMA#, he's worked on '04 GS300 before and knows this kit works. He's asked to have a photo made of the rear of the radio, which I will do in the morning.
I was just wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and, if you solved it, how you did.

I was able to get the DICE interfaced with my GS300 factory stereo. It did take the DICE company sending me a "special made" cable to use with the unit. It was a hassle, which I would have preferred not to have had happen.
The result has been it is not an elegant addition to an elegant car. The factory stereo will not display artist or track and getting to the desired playlist takes remembering several different keystrokes.
In retrospect, I would not have pursued it and saved my money.

This particular unit had been advertised as being compatible with '04 GS300 and up. During the install I discovered that, despite my GS being an '04, the factory stereo was actually an '03 (vehicle was made in September 2003). The Dice unit was NOT compatible with factory stereos below '04 model year. I took digital photos of the connectors and the back of my factory stereo and sent everything off to Dice. A couple of weeks later a package arrived with a new connector, which would connect to my factory stereo and allow the iPod to connect. It does play and the sound is quite nice. That has never been the issue. The issue is that, because of this particular factory stereo, the control of the iPod is very funky and not at all user friendly.
I used the iPod in the car for a year before deciding to look at replacing the factory unit with a Kenwood 8120. I like this unit because it has navigation, something my GS lacks (but I do have a nifty cargo net!)
