Lexus Rookie Needs Help
Prior maintenance will be a bigger deal than mileage - so like RI- Lexus said, check for those records. Toyota or Lexus dealerships can advise of you of that as they can pull service records for the vehicle by the VIN. With both my Lexus' I also took them to a Toyota dealership (older models 96 and 98) and let them do a pre-purchase inspection as well. It's about $100 but once you narrow down the car you want, they do a very good once over leaking for leaks, parts that need or will need to be replaced soon, etc. I wouldn't do it for every car, but like when you fond "the one" I'd definitely do it for that car. Its used so surely something will need to be replaced, I'd look more at whether or not it was a major component and the cost attached to replacing it versus the fact something needs to be replaced. But judging from your posts, you've done this before so follow gut and know that as long as the previous owner took care of their vehicle, a Lexus is a great and dependable investment! I have yet to buy one new and the only one I lost was in a car accident (the insurance company totaled it out). When taken care of they are relatively low maintenance and will last you up tp about 400K miles.
