Dude, if you want a head snapping setup...get a 3.92 GS300 rear differential and the 2800rpm stall Lextreme TC. Stay away from the Dragon ones since they tend to be a little more noisy and have a higher failure rate...not to mention they cost quite a bit more. I'd say you can get that all done and stay under $500 with the Lextreme TC and GS3 rear. I just put my GS300 3.92 rear end into my friends GS400(swapped him for his 3.76LSD rear). That thing hauls *** off the line like a bat out of hell. You don't really need the LSD unless you go sideways all day like me lol. All I can say is that car flat out hauls ***! On top of that, the motor is completely stock too

Also, moving from a 3.23 to a 3.76 decreases your gas mileage and by going up to a 3.92 you will have a decrease in gas mileage even more so. Also, keep in mind (since I have a 3.76) you will be at around 3K rpm's @ 69-70mph. With a 3.92 setup on the GS4XX you will probably be at 3K RPM's at more like 65mph. Just keep that in mind if it's you daily driver and you do a lot of travelling. Just think...at around 80mph (highway) you will be taching probably around 3800rpms with the 3.92 setup. A lot of members here choose the 3.76 setup because it is the best of both worlds. If this car is NOT your DD then by all means...make it a beast and don't worry about mpg. lol. Also, as a side note, I have the Precsion Industries torque converter and it is a VERY quiet operating unit; especially when you install it with a full Amsoil ATF fluid flush/fill. If you had to pick only one for right now, the PI TC will give you the greatest acceleration results. It's just that by putting this on your GS4XX you will love it so much but will hate that you will NEVER get any traction off the line what so ever. So...this is where the 3.76LSD comes into play to put all that torque multiplication down to both rear tires to the ground. GL!...Just my two cents.

I will try to post up a video of what a GS400 can do off the line with an intake/exhaust/PI TC and/3.76LSD. Then a couple of more videos hopefully a little later down the road when I get my damn AFC Neo turned on and tuned.

Used...$800-$1200 if you can find one. New...$1599 from many different websites. Maybe cheaper if you go to Carson Toyota/Lexus (since it's a genuine Toyota part). It is direct bolt-on. I believe you want the 3.76 LSD for a '93-'95 Supra TT (auto). Someone please confirm this!

damn the 3.92 is like pennies compared to that. the difference in gas consumption vs the lsd price negates itself

Now I know that the 3.76 gears work well with the PI TC and I'm planning on getting both in the future but I have one question ... Is it better to install one before the other or is it better to install them both at the same time? Does it make any difference?

BTW I've got an '01 GS430 ...

-Thanks

I only have the budget for one right now.....that's why i'm trying to get everyones opinion on which to get first and the other will come in time. I don't want to do the GS3's 3.96 becuase of the MPG difference and I would like the have the LSD. Plus I usually cruise around 85 on the hwy! I like to get her sideways too! This is my DD and I drive a pretty good bit in ATL. With the TC and bigger wheels, will I still loose a good bit of grip off the line? I have 255's on the rear.

Kevs - Let me put it to you this way...I only have 19's on 245's with around 100lbs of stereo in the back----WITH the 3.76 LSD I can break my tires for about a 15' stretch. Without the LSD you will be smokin' 'em...lol. You will just have to adjust your launch technique a little bit until you drop in the LSD.

TruPlaya - it doesn't matter if they are installed at the same time or not. I had both of mine installed along with the tranny cooler, a full Amsoil ATF flush/fill and fill (expensive stuff but works great) and a Royal Purple MaxGear fill in the 3.76 LSD (also expensive stuff but works great). The whole thing cost me around $1100 for just the install and fluids! Keep in mind if you ever want to sell these things down the road you will have no problem ever getting some decent $$$ back as people are always looking for these two items.

***Important*** GET A TRANNY COOLER FOR THE HIGH STALL TC! It is worth it's weight in gold and protects your tranny! (and besides it's only $60 bucks)---search and you will find MUCH info.

Well the thing I wanted to know was, Does it matter in which order we install these items? for example, does it matter if i install the 3.76 LSD and a couple months later install the TC or Vice Versa? Just wondering if there is any difference?
