82,000 miles, engine was fine, the deer that entered the engine compartment is what warrants the replacement. Oh and the replacement is being done by Lexus

Have you considered replacing it with the motor that really belongs in there?

The Insurance company is paying for all of this so I'm not able to put any extras in. They've already shelled out 6000 for body work now just wondering how much the engine will be.

Your not going to get a new engine. What is going to happen is you or Lexus will search junkyards for a good used engine with lower miles.

5k-10k easy.

Yeah I knew it wouldn't be a new one, I was thinking along the same price as this.

Maybe the insurance company will let you find a motor if cheaper ? and get the 2jz ?

But you would need tyo maintain this motor not sure if just driving would be good enough ... most turbo motors require lots of under the hood checking and maintaining ...

Maybe upgrade to a 400 ?

See if insurance company will pay out with cash instead of the work, then get yourself a 2jz.
