Yeah I know this is the GS forum, but look at this and maybe prepare for a GS430 GT!?!

With its Formula One cars ready to hit the track, Toyota is aiming to prove its sporting prowess on the road, too. After the success of its T Sport models, the firm has turned its attention to luxury arm Lexus – and here's the result!
Christened the LS430 GT, it's a reworked version of the standard car and will spearhead an attack on the demanding high-performance market. Built with the help of TOMS, Toyota's in-house tuning division, it features a supercharger to produce 380bhp from its 4.3-litre V8. Changes to the bodywork improve high-speed stability, while bigger wheels and tyres, as well as an uprated suspension, enhance the handling. Fitted with a five-speed automatic gearbox, the car is capable of sprinting from 0-60mph in less than six seconds and has a top speed of more than 165mph. The GT was unveiled at this week's Tokyo Auto Salon motor show.

Toyota owns TRD. TTE is a tuning division off Toyota of Europe, and TOM's was a private Toyota-tuning company now partially owned by Toyota and has Toyota's factory support.

I could be BSing.

And why exactly did they take LS to be a track performer? I love LS and that would be my next ride if US gets this car; however, I see more logic in doing that to a GS.

Anyone has any idea?

finally.. Lexus is tyring to get their act together.. maybe was the new year resolution..... maybe a spy in CL finally report back to the corporation... what really need to be done to compete with BMW factory car. A potent engine does not make the car superior. GS... Power without control = nothing.

WE at CL exist because we love our GS and want to bring the beast under control...

Yeah, which most of the enthusiasts who frequent these types of forums will promptly remove to achieve a "clean" debadged look!

I don't think that car will be very good when it comes to competing. A tweaked GS would do much better. On top of that 0-60 in the 5 second range isn't an impressive feat. If I'm not mistaken the LS430 is already in the 6 second range. SO getting it down to 5 wouldn't be much. Now if they got it down to the 4's then it would be a great contender.

This sounds very interesting? but how about the supercharger used on IS430? IT produces 396bhp, to my opinion why don't Lexus just bring that engine into LS430?

what do you guys think?

What ARE you talking about? What large sedan can do 0-60 in the 4's?

I keep thinking that the LS is more in line with the 5 series. I don't think it's as big as the 7. Anyway it would be a nice car to have. Well see in about 20 years

I think 4.30 liter fits LS430 pretty well. Lexus could have introduced the supercharger to IS and GS. Maybe when I'm tired of the current GS, Lexus would already have a solution.

Christobol - Getting a 4000lb Sedan go 1 second faster 0-60 is quite a feat...

...I think Lexus isn't doing up the current GS because they're waiting to release the new one in some sort of M5/E55 beating form....but I could be just BSing...
