a few of my buddies and i got into it about whether or not my pinstripe on my 98 2nd gen gs was put on by the previous owner or was in fact bought like that. i know the gs came out with a pinstriped factory right?

 

That's a good question because my GS a tan looking stripe going across it that I really don't care for. I do not recall ever seeing another GS here on CL or on the streets with the pinstripes. Anyway, I'd rather no pinstripes.

 

I have seen many black and white GSs with gold stripes. May have been an option from factory.

 

must have been a dealer option. Mine doesn't have one. Are they painted or can you peal them off. If you can peal them then I would say the previous owner probably put them on their, but not if they are painted on. I like mine without stripes!

 

i like the pinstripe personally kinda keeps me different from the others ahha

 

I never really looked at it up close. If it's something that can easily be peeled off or something then I will look to get it removed.

 

It's just my opinion, but I've seen so many pics and vids of '98-'99 GS's with the pinstripes placed in the same area and of the same style that I would say it was a dealer/factory option. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but personally I don't find the GS a good candidate for pinstriping.
