Default Is tapping into ignition switch accesory wire safe?

Hey guys I have an amp in my trunk that keeps over heating so I mounted two 180mm fans in it. I tried to tap into the amps remote wire but the fans must be drawing too much amps cause after about 10 secs they slow way down and my amp shuts down so I need to tap into a different source. Since I really do not want to have to take apart my dash again, plus I already have enough wires splined into the ignition wire behind my head unit I was looking to use the accessory wire coming off the ignition switch or the fuse box. Which one is better, safer and does anyone know which wire on the ignition switch is the accessory wire? I know there is one behind the instrument cluster but I am scared to tap into there because I dont want to blow anything, especially since they seem to draw a bit of current.

I would suggest for you to use a relay instead of drawing power from your amp remote wire. Remote wire is not design to power up fans, its just to send signal to amp relay to turn on the power for the amps. If you get relays for you fans it should do the same thing for your fan.

Either run a relay or if you're lazy just run the fans power source from the cigarette lighter.

i would find out why your amp shuts off first, i doubt fans will keep it from happening. How do you have it wired? how good is your ground? what gage power cable are you using? ohm? ect.. look in to those types of thing s because amps are not suppose to shut off unless they are over loaded.
