Hey, Moderators
The system that I want is mainly so that I can play DVD's, have Navi, and a nice motorized screen . I've got my two 12" Fosgate subs for the punch and some other bells and whistles to clear up all the sound channels, so that would help.
As for the bodykit, I'd probably go for the Veilside kit because that draws my attention the most (aside from the sweet import kits). I don't mean this to offend anyone else with a different kit, though.
The two factors that make me hesitant about getting a kit is that it can draw a lot of unwanted attention to the car and that it could crack or be damaged from the roads, speed bumps, etc.
Has anyone with a bodykit experienced much trouble with scraping, cracking, or breaking?
Switching over to "rim" discussion, I don't think I want to go higher than 18's for the rims because of the stories I've heard about bent rims and constant replacement of tires. I've got SOME money, but not enough to consistently buy new tires every 6 months.......
Well, maybe I should see how my GS looks dropped with rims and then decide?
Now which section should this thread be placed or would you want to actually break the paragraphs down (cut & paste) each topic in its appropriate forum?
In Times like this we need to pause and enjoy the finer things in life.
Minh,
I'm gonna poke at you a little; don't take it personally.
Seems the reasons you list are rather selfish:
...then I don't have to go to 5 different forums..
....Now if I have a question I want answered, I put it the main...
Think about a newspaper: what if someone wants to read about just wheels, or just suspension, or just kills, for sale items? See? Imagine all that content in the General Forum.
Not all posts warrant a response, keep that in mind.
I would think that if all the stuff was kept in the general forum, it would be harder to search through - not easier - you know you can search by forum, right?
I tell you somehting I found VERY helpful when I came here was going to the beginning of each forum and reading allteh posts that interested me - tranny, electronincs, wheels.
What goes in the general, not sure, but whatever doesn't fit in the rest, right?
I dunno what the resolution is - I've posted stuff by your same logic too for answers, but I try to keep those occurences to a minimum. Post a thread with a link to the correct forum maybe so you can delete later without losing any of the content?
Not sure if we consider ourselve a democracy here, so I guess we could come up with a group vote or something.
Stickies for truly 'hot' topics.
Glad to see some feedback guys. I didn't think this would happen; not my intent, but good comments nonetheless.
Suspension - 11 posts in a week
Engine - 5 posts in week
Wheels - 26 posts in week (but this is for at least 8 different models of vehicles)
All of those combined is maybe what the General gets in half a day. So, no, I don't follow your clutter logic on this one. I think we could cut a few of the forums out and still be able to maintain some sense of organisation.
As for being selfish, I highly doubt I'm the only only that feels this way. Besides, you have yourself committed the same selfish acts that I have. In any case, I've never posted to the general forum before today.
SEND them all to me an Captain Ratman in the Lobby where they will be DROWNED under the HOT WOMEN PICS thread
Anyways back to this little debate.. Everyone knows that the majority of the traffic flows through the GS forum with the IS forum following.. Yes we get alot of none GS stuff in here but that is why this forum has like 6 moderators.. Just use that report to moderator button at the bottom of the post if it bugs you..
As for that DIY Forum idea I think that is great.. Hey at least this way I can see what Globe and SuperJoe are working on..

They could even moderate it too..
If the suspension/wheels/engines had enough traffic, then you might have an argument.

Instead of doing stuff for yourself, why don't you put it where others can learn something from your information or question? Yeah, that would add to ClubLexus woudn't it....no, wait, just get your answer and leave.
I'm not making an argument - simply a request for the mods to move the posts where they belong - isn't that why we have the other forums? Yeah, I'm pretty certain so.
By your statement, if everyone is doing it, it must make it right....
Yeah, I've done it before - I already said that - what's your blatently missing point?
I didn't crap on you, or anyone else for that matter, for posting in the general forum; my whole reason for this was to ask all the moderators to move some threads without having to PM each one individually - its cool to see the rest of the feedback and suggestions for a resolution - don't turn it into a minh defensive party please.
I'm sure you are not alone in your thinking; my intent was not to single you out; I told you not to take it personally.
Do you mix all your food up on your plate before you eat it too?
Just curious.
I'm not saying it's right, but it works and that's the way most peoples logic flows. No one is complaining anyway so what difference does it make?
In any case, does any of this really matter? I don't know you, you don't know me, we are not friends and I'm sure I'll never "see ya around."

On www.hometheaterforum.com they finally just broke up the Home Theater Hardware section because it was RIDICULOUS with questions about speakers, receivers, CD/DVD players, cables, cabinets, etc., etc. They broke it up into a few sub-areas and just like in this thread, there's some people now screaming that breaking it up was a bad thing saying they liked being surprised by coming across things they didn't know they were interested in. BUT, for most people who can't spend HUGE amounts of time on there, a message posted in the morning would be 5 pages back by the evening. ClubLexus is not that bad, but would be going down that road if people don't post in sub-sections.
I do go into the suspension and engine sub-sections and will answer questions in there.
I have NO interest in the 'view all new posts' button because I couldn't care less about most of the sections on ClubLexus.
Celebrating Lexus & Toyota from Around the Globe
I really don't pay attention to most of the other forums either, mostly just the LS (my car), SC (similar mod's to my car, plus they actually DO mod's), GS (obviously) and the wheels forum. That said, there is quite a bit (no pun intended) of information to be had in some of the other forums. I just like to be able to see all the new posts from the last time I was here. If it sounds stupid, or should I say "not interesting", then I don't check it out but I think we've all almost missed some good threads because they had poor choices for names of subjects.
I'm sure this next thought will ruffle some feathers but I really think that there are some people here that should be moderators and some that shouldn't. To me, I think a moderator should be someone that frequents this site often, has a HIGH level of maturity, a reasonable level of knowledge, and actually care about how this site functions. I think all the moderators frequent the site and care (somewhat) about how it functions but sometimes the other qualities are lacking. I'm not going to get into a pissing contest of who's who, only that when I see a post from certain people I can almost take it as gospel and others I wouldn't trust the information as far as I could spit it.
OK, I've changed my mind, I'm going to mention some names, but only in a positive manner. If I don't mention your name, please don't take offense, I'm kind of shooting from the hip here. I think Percy and Mene Gene are great moderators in the electronics forum. Both are willing to answer any question, have a great technical background, and have obviously been into car audio and electronics for many years. That's what I look for in a moderator and all the others should model themselves after them. I think Bit and Dex would be good moderators. Both are here ALL THE TIME
, are mature, and care how this site runs.I guess I'll get off my soap box now, I just thought some shoutouts needed to be done.
Moderator note**
Please don't take away my posting privileges!!
We all have differnt perspectives, even though we don't all agree, so that's cool - no blood, no foul.
I'd love to be a mod. Minh, I've got your number.
j/k, reallyI apreciate the 'shout-out' -z-
Good night.
