Default Need opinions on which to get . Help please

Well i just signed up in the forums, and probably am on my way to getting my first lexus, time to say bye to my lil 4 cyi integ and jump on a big boy car , i dont got the money for a brand new one and i liked the gs400s so i was looking at those, and came up with 2 that i think are maybe worth looking at.

1) 1998 GS400 - 130,723 miles - $11,995 - carfax report said 3 owners but no accident or mechanical problems, and body is clean.

2) 2000 GS400 - 107,920 miles - 14,988 - carfax report said 1 owner but did have an accident with a fixed object (pole maybe?) but it was 2 years ago, and no mechanical problems, body is clean.

So what you guys think, which one would you choose or should i wait another month and see what i can find then. Any info and feedback is welcome, thanks.

I'd go for the 2000, its newer and got less miles and if there's no mechanical problems you should be good to go. now its up to you if you'd like to wait and see if you find something better, check www.cars.com im sure you'll find more good deals there ... It took me two months to find the GS i wanted and I couldn't be happier ... good luck man

If it were me I would take my time looking. In my opinion both of those cars are a little high in price for the miles. Miles do not hurt these cars with proper up-keep but the lower the better. If you take your time you should be able to find a great deal. Might even find one thats got some stylish mods on it in the classifieds here.

Make sure maintanance is up to date before buying. Also, if there's a color or option you really want, just wait it out until one turns up. Don't settle for less.

I also agree with taking some more time to find some other ones. I'm sure you'll agree with me when I say that finding cars to buy are easy, but selling them is much more difficult. There are TONS of GS400's out for sale. Check out the Classifieds section of the ClubLexus forum, we have many great members here, and I'm sure you'll find something very satisfying!

Take the extra $3000.00 for mods
