Another New Owner Intro....
THANKS! The night he pulled up and I saw the color I was happy. See, when I talked to him on the phone that day he said it was a "brownish" color. I almost told him to forget it but said bring it home anyway because of the way he was raving about it. Glad I did because i really like the color. The good thing for me is my wife had a 3 series BMW years ago with the exact same color. When she saw it her decision was sealed.
I think the owner had to install it just to keep his speed down! I know after shaking the GS out for 5 hours, I found myself creaping up to the the 90mph mark without really knowing it,the V8 is just that smooth. I am thinking since they were older, they bought it for insurance of a ticket....well atleast that is what I am telling myself!! Knowing my luck the retired couple was Mario Andretti beating the **** out of it!! (atleast he kept it clean!)
Thanks again everone. She is ultra clean. What I can not believe is there is not one door ding on this car. You would think after 10 years and with all of the wahoos at the mall, that there would be one ding or a scratch on it, but I can not find anything except for the standard rock chips on the front of the hood. My 06 company car has dings and scratches all over it from parking in the malls here.
The only bad thing is I am now finding myself parking it away from eveyone like I did with the BMW becasue it is so clean. After 10 years I do not want to be the one to add the first door ding!

It's a sweet color.....now more importantly, what size are those rims on yours?
This site is killing me! My plan is to drive it stock for a while to get a feel but I already have been on tirerack adding wheels to the GS on their site. I am starting to think a grey or black wheel would look good. I do like the way yours fills it out.
I better hide the credit card because the mod bug is already hitting hard!!
(side note....all of my cars except for the 540 were modded by me. I like driving something a little different. Right now I have a 92 5.0 vert lowered on 17" rims, exhaust, and engine work.....Thought that would keep that crazy mod bug away from my wallet on the GS)

Clean car!
Just a FYI if you haven't researched yet, but the starter on the 98-00 GS400 tends to go out around 100k miles. A new starter is $250-ish, but you can buy the parts to rebuild yours for about $60. Labor is going to take about 5 hours since it sits under the intake manifold.
Door lock actuators go out on our cars too. It could be any door, but usually its the driver side that fails first. Carson toyota can hook you up for $205 per actuator. Labor is pretty easy.
Balljoints....Get those replaced regardless if you think they're still good or not unless you can confirm that they were recently replaced. Its worth spending the $125/pair for the front (we dont have them for the rears). It's pretty easy to install too.
Other than that, the car will hardly be in the shop. While most bimmer guys are spending money on repairs, we're spending ours on mods

THat is awesome...except the bmw part
...Funny how bmw owners turn into lexi lovers...Same kinda story with my car....but i got a 2000 gs300 silver/black(Got it today
)...all the service for my car was done at the dealer as well....my gs has 90k on it and it feels brand new. The leather is immaculate...(my friends gave me a wtf face when they saw my interior)...and paint pristine...garaged babied wife's car FTW!
I was looking at my service reports...and the tires were replaced at 65k....BUT my tires still have those sidewall nubs on em @ 90k.....I couldn't be happier with my ride. And I am sure the previous owner babied the gs....she had a new gs350....I guess lexus owners really love lexus...could it be the reliability?
Congrats on yer gs4 looks brand spankin new....

My GS4 is the best car i had ever owned, and i had worked for Benz and BMW in the past.
