chips on hood

Default chips on hood

Is it me or does anyone else notice how our cars are very proned to getting chips on the hood and front bumper. I notice every little thing on my car. The other day i was washing my car and noticed a bunch of new chips on my hood and front bumper last week i went on vacation to the jersey shore thats when it must of happened i rarely drive on the highway. does anyone else notice this? Does lexus use cheap paint or what? my other cars had chips on the hood but not like this

yea i even had my froent end repainted just to fix that and a yr later i got some more lol...

yea mine has chips too. I think its the aerodynamics of the car.

Makes me mad..

but a good detaileer can send them out and touch em up...shudnt be as costly as a paint job :-\

Yes that has been a huge issue with me, I hate seeing those rock chips. You may want to look into a clear bra after you repaint the front end, if you plan on doing that. Those rock chips bother me so much I am willing to do what I can to prevent them.

but do you really want to deal with the clear bra turning yellow after a few years?

I just have the whole car repainted every few years. Mine is a '05 and going for a full paintjob in about a year

I hate the rock chips on my front end! I have a lot of them too! How much does it cost to have the front bumper and hood repainted?

I've worked with someone here in Atlanta that can airbrush the chips so they're less visble on the hood and fenders. He repainted my bumper recently as well.

You know whats funny, I keep hearing this all over the forum, but then I talk to people that have the clear bra, at least a good quality clear bra, and they state no problems at all with it yellowing. Either the people that had problems with it yellowing dont take care of it properly, or they have cheap quality film. I will take my chances, if it does yellow then I can just peel it off and be chip free. Better than spending $600 every year to repaint the entire front end
