I almost could not find this post. This may help you. This is what I concluded from my research.

Notice how when the side curtain deploys it comes from the bottom/rear edge of the pillar. So if anything the pillar is pushed forward.
Just don't cross any tubes or wires in the curtains path.

Ok so I ripped off the cover which was really easy. I placed some felt where the dash and cover meet and where the plastic piece from the cover goes into the plastic thing in the dash. By just pushing on the pillar now it makes a lot less noise then before the felt. Hopefully now when I drive I'm not going to hear the creaking sound going over bumps and uneven surfaces. I'll report back once I put her on the road for a test.

u no whats good about this place... even if a question has been answered the members will just out out and help and post a link to the thread where it was answered. at other sites, theyll waste their time saying use search button blah blah blah and flame for not pressing it and you never get your answer - even with search hahaha..

There is no more creaking sound anymore. I'm so happy now my car sounds the way it should be no more annoying creak crack crap making my car sound like its a ford. If anyone is having creaking sounds you might want to check this out.
