Default cool new keys...

on one of the new lexus commercials, they show a set of keys which look pretty cool. i think it's for the new LS but does anyone know if you can upgrade 98-00 GS keys to better ones?

They look like they have some lighter color like white or gray in the middle of a black field. I don't know if it's purely cosmetic or has functional changes.

I have to be honest. I have spent stupid things that I really never needed (like the 2001 gage cluster) but I really see absolutely no reason to want a different key. I saw that commercial too before you pointed it out, and I though 'new key'. Besides having something with less scratches, I do not see what a key could offer you at all more then what your existing key can do. Certainly nothing worth paying money for. But that's just me.

Haven't seen the commercial. Go ask your dealer what they charge just to replace ONE existing master key and I think you'll likely pass on replacing your keys.

edogg is right. It's the "December to remember" Lexus commercials. It was the key for the black LS430 and I thought they were a new style too - kinda reminded me of the new LS/GS430 engine cover. But, after seeing it a couple times it is just a key ring.

I just saw that commercial again. She thought the Millers had a new Lexus. It really cracks me up how these "commercial people" are getting new Lexus vehicles for Christmas A 70k car for your wife...boy...I hope she likes it! "Honey, we got you a new CD player..." IN YOUR NEW IS300!

some people blessed enough do buy thier spouse a new lexus. I saw a guy in our local dallas area on the Local news channel that bought his wife a brand new 2002 Lexus SC430 silver color. And he was saying how after 21 years of marriage that she deserves it. It was actually pretty cool.

Yeah, but how many guys REALLY got it because they wanted it for themselves? Sorry to sound cynical, but it's often easy to justify a gift like that. Maybe she deserved a week at a spa too but he wouldn't get to drive that.
