Unhappy

Hi all,

I finally realized why my passenger rear storage space was rattling. The cause is my passenger seat vibrating without control. The problem occurs on the express way. It was quite funny. I looked to my side and there the seat was just vibrating. I can't imagine how my passengers felt about my car. Are you people experiencing the same thing? My car was just in for my 15k sevice in which they also fixed numerous rattles, but not that one. I always imagined that buying a Lex would solve my problems of rattling when I got rid of my C5, but apparently it didn't. Overall, its a wonderful car and I am still happy with it.

Thanks,
Mike

I think there might be something else wrong here, maybe a tire bulge on the passenger side???

I've never heard of a rattle in the passenger seat before... nor have i experienced it. Probably a wheel balance issue since it's only at highway speeds

I'd have to agree,

balancing problem is the most likely culprit. I dont experience the vibration until my balancing is out. still, no noise from the passenger seat..

I've had that problem too if you have subs hooked up thats causing the problem there shaking the seet loose all you have to do is tighten the bolts in every once in a while but if you dont then I'm not sure what the problem is it could be that the frame of your seat is broken and is rattleing just a sugestion though

Check your alignment and wheel balancing. Also look for out of round tire or bent wheel, probably on the back since you don't say you are feeling it through the steering wheel.

The seats have some play in the backs and what you are seeing is a body shake showing up in the seat back movement. You'll probably feel it in your butt too if you pay attention to it.

If you are getting a noise there may be something loose in the seat supports as well.

Had a similar problem on my GS400 at 70 mph+ when tires needed to be balanced. Re-balance solved it.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the replies! I just had my wheels/tires balanced about 4k miles ago, but you never know what could have happened since then. I feel that the seat is plain and simply loose. I mean the bolts. I do listen to my music loud, but it is only the stock nakamichi. Well, my car is going in next week for my standard balance and oil change so I guess we will find out. Hopefully, it will not persist.

Thanks again,

Mike

This is a very very old thread, but I its the first one I found from the "passenger seat vibration" search.

My pass seat has the jiggles, and just had the tires balanced and rotated. One thing I did notice is that the tires that were on the front had some mild wear on the outsides on both sides. The balance rotation helped it alot, but we still have the jiggles, and was wondering if anyone ever figured this out.
