Last night on my way home from work(going about 55 mph) a raccoon decides that he wants to cross the road; two seconds later my passenger side fog light is a thing of the past, the horizontal slates on the front bumper was broken, and the paint below the now empty space where the fog light was is splintered.
I guess now I can proceed with getting an aftermarket bumper; only I don't know how to get my insurance company to agree with getting a bumper that is not oem. Any suggestions?

Unless you have a really low deductible, you probably will not get much from the insurance company. It also depends on the insurance company whether they want to cut you a check or pay the bodyshop directly.
