Default Navigation is tripping

I have a 2001 GS 300 with nav/mark lev....sound system
Why am I having trouble with the Nav staying on course? Im always having to adjust the current position and calabrate. This is a daily thing now. Would an update fix it?

i have this same problem and i'm gonna get an update and ask lexus to calibrate my system for me again. don't know what the hell is going on..

a detailed answer to this would be so helpful!

Hello, are you guys driving by high rise buildings when this occurs? it could be blind spots or sun spots causing mis guided routes. if you are in these certai spots the vehicle has to rely on speed sensors and steering angle which gets you close.

i dont know what was happening with mine i have the old hd nav but i was at the shore and it used to tell me i was in the water. mine is still off by a few feet some times but i dont pay attention to my navi unless i need it now.

You guys have tried the self-calibration for the GPS positioning right? I adjusted mine and it got better.

I think to get into the menu was to do this:

1) Turn the key to ON position.
2) With your right hand, hold both CLIMATE and AUDIO buttons down.
3) Turn the headlights from OFF to PARKING lights.
4) Repeat until the blue screen pops up.
5) Go into the menu from there and adjust accordingly.

is it hard to adjust it like that, sleeper? how do you know EXACTLY where you are though?
