Isnt the 2001 chrome? Dont know why mine is blacked out, still see some chrome leftovers.

 

LOL, no the grill for 2001+ are also painted kinda a gunmetal color straight from Lexus. Those chrome flecks aren't leftover, it's chips in the gunmetal paint. The base is all chrome. Search the forum for info on DIY chome grills, and you can get some paint remover gel and take that paint off for a beautiful chrome finish

this is a pic of the GS4 when i painted the grill black



after one day of driving you can see the ship marks on the left side of the grill. i then resanded down and sprayed rustoleum flat black on it. it is lookin great almost 4 months later

 

Carbongs.....your grill came out great with the silver ring around the out side.

 

just some painter's tape and paint thinner on a cue tip afterwards

 

Can i find Flat Black spraypaint from any hardware store?

I wonder if i should go flat black or gloss.... prob. flat. This would go perfect with my black/white theme.

Should i apply any clearcoat?
