Hey guys, some of you may know me from this board or from Supraforums (For those who dont know me I have a Vvti Gte swapped single turbo Gs putting down 467whp on pump gas). Anyways, I've been thinking about selling my Gs for a truck (04-07 F250, Silverado etc...) it would be a diesel and leather interior etc...nothing baseline
I like my Gs but it's nice looking at a truck where I wont have to worry about as much upkeep (20" wheels with 30 series tires for instance)
Other benefits would be that I have a dirtbike I like to haul around and also a Gsxr 1000 (so I wont be out any speed thrills). My Gs is fun to drive and has plenty of power (is that posible? lol..) I guess what I'm getting at is I'm 50/50 on selling and would like to here what other people would do.

I guess its up to what you really want. If you could, the best thing would to just keep modding the GS, and leave it as a weekend car. Then use a truck as a daily beater and you can also haul around your ATV/jetski..etc.
Instead of getting a f250, go for a used Tundra/Tacoma for a bit cheaper to save $$$?

Well that would be ideal but I can only afford 1 car. I like the tundra but I think it's a little small. If I was going to get a truck I want something full size. I have been checking out Ford F250's and Chevy Silverado's both in their Diesel Quad cab configurations.
I like my Gs and it is reliable and has never ever let me down even after the swap but I also get scared parking it anywhere and worry about dings in wheels and all the usual stuff you know, it just seems like a truck would be less headache etc..I would be installing a lift and some 37's or 38's so I wont be rolling stock
lol...but idk...would like to hear what you guys think becuase I cant make up my mind, lol...

haha, i know how you feel.
I came from an SUV, and got tired of how big it was. It was a gas guzzler, and you cant drive it like the GS.
Now i have the GS, lowered w/ rims, and you gotta be careful for bumps, dips, where you park, etc.. just more **** overall like you said. And you cant haul stuff around like you can with an SUV.
Now i feel like getting a trunk again, so i can run through everything w/out slowing down. haha. less headache too w/ parking and carrying stuff around.
I think its just good to have a change once in while, but both cars has its pros/cons. F250's are huge, and with a lift and some huge tires, it'll be a pretty cool car too.
After you get your truck, you'll want your GS back in less than one year.

Everybody's situation is different so I can only go based on what I would do. When I bought my GS3 I knew I was going to keep it for a long time (at least I think I am). I've had my car for 2 years and I plan on keeping it after I've paid it off. I will probably get a second car after I pay this one off. I figure I've put so much money into it and besides it's like the perfect car for me. I would like to get a truck but probably the LX470 and a sports car like a 350Z or something. Just keep in mind you will never get what you think your car is worth. Also, most of us that got the GS3 wish we had gotten the GS4 so we have to turbo or supercharge which you already did when most of us can't really afford it or don't want to go through the hassle.

The decision is yours to make. I can tell you getting in and out of lifted truck gets real old real fast, not to mention trying to load that bike into the bed of truck 4 1/2 feet off the ground. Parking one of those quad cab beauties is like trying to squeeze a limo into a compact car space. I have an '88 F250 I bought new and love having it around. It's now my hauler, hunter and fishng rig but I'm so glad it's no longer my daily driver. Big trucks have their purpose, but a daily driver number 1 vehicle isn't one of them in my opinion. See if you can't swing some kind of deal on a nice older used rig and get cheap payments for just a couple of years.
Like we said its really up to you.. IMO Ford has come a long way in redifining there trucks and they have done a gret job.. but a used Tundra or Tacoma may be worth it in the long run.. Is Ford really "Built Ford Tough" who knows.. do some searching and keep us posted.. GL..

I would not buy the Ford with the 6.0L or the new 6.4L. They have problems with turbos and injectors. The older Ford with the 7.4L Powerstroke is a very sought after diesel. This is not to say the Duramax is without problems, but the current Ford diesel has more.
^yes, my friends dad has purchased the new ford diesels and it has broken down several times on the road because of bad injectors. The older one he had never had problems. Lets see some pics of the gs
. If you sell it, it should be to someone on here so theyll take care of it at least.
