I wonder if you can swap parts from 1GS or other Lexus... I know my 1GS never had any of these steering wheel shake problems.

Had the same problem and while I could get along with queit unentusiastic handling manner (switched from BMW e39), that steering wheel rattling and noise was a pain in ***. Mostly on gravel road or cobblestone street at low speeds.
gs-ireland's way helped out 100%, thumbs up! and I like stiffer steering also, but it's up to anyone to tighten the ties as much as he wishes.
And I'm gonna live with this kind of "redneck repair" rather than replacing whole unit.

Default steering wheel dosent move tires!!!!

I turned on my car i was pulling out in reverse turned the wheel then i heard a thump and my wheel went into free mode litterly spins with no reaction of tires, so i put it in park looked under steering colum and this thing came apart wtf????






Wtf is this just male and female??hows it hold together?it dosent even reach
