Unhappy Speakers dont work after getting amp wet

I took out the garbage and some water leaked out of one bag and dripped in the trunk. I think some water may have got on the amplifier in the back bottom right in the trunk. I took the garbage out and took off and noticed that there was no sound coming from the speakers. Then, changed the song; then, switched to the radio and there was nothing playing. The stereo looks fine but nothing is coming out of the speakers. Not even static. I have a 99 gs400 with the nakamichi premium sound. Does anybody know what the problem might be. I checked all the fuses, nothing blown. Unplugged the amp and it was dry and didn't smeel like something fried in it. But ther was some water in the bottom of the trunk, had to push out the drain the water. Not a whole lot but some.

Default Fixed itself

I was just going to try to switch my sisters amp from her ls400 but I tried one last time to see if it would work and it worked. I had the trunk up for an hour in the sun and it dried up some. Seems to work fine now. Saved me a few dollars.

If I were you, I would buy a gallon of distilled water, disconnect the battery and rinse out the area where you had the spill. Once every thing is bone dry maybe spray some contact cleaner near the amp where water may have accumilated.

Reconnect the battery when every thing is bone dry.

[ps> I woudl also add a tbsp of bleach in 1 gal of distilled water. Just make sure the solution does not affect the colored mats and paint ... unlikely but that is my discalimer. This will prevent molds.]

It looks to be an amp. Just pull up the right side of the carpet in the trunk to see if you have something there. It's 9"x12"x3" silver box. Something around the looks of that. Has about 3 or 4 sets of wires going to it. Has some numbers on the back; watts, etc. Maybe there is more than one.

Nakamichi and navi have a part of the system in the trunk. The pioneer unit has the amp on the passenger side near the glovebox
