Wierd front end conversion in Japan..

Looks like the owner of this aristo in Japan tried to do a conversion...

I can't remember the name of what he's trying to put on here, it looks a lot like the GS400, but it's from a small SUV-ish looking vehicle, I think toyota makes it.. I'll have to find that magazine again.. Does anyone know what lights he was trying to install? The name of the car escapes me. I would like to have seen how it looks completed and with an oem grill instead.

Possibly a Toyota Matrix, Pontiac's version is called the Vibe.
