Default looking at first gen gs300, please help.

Hello all. As you probably know, I am a brand spanking new member here. I am considering adding a 1995 Lexus GS300 to my very small stable of cars. I want something quiet and comfortable that I can use as a daily driver so I can take some of the mileage pressure off of my 1985 AE86 Corolla GTS. My question is are there any problem areas with the first gen. GS300s and the 1995 in particular that I should watch out for? I found a beauty that's blue on gray and I'm gonna try to look at it this weekend if the owner's around.

Thanks in advance,

I also have 95 GS that I purchased 3 years ago with 28000 miles. since then, I put over 60000miles before I did the engine swap and put another 15000miles with the new engine. within that 60000 miles with the original engine, I only had problems with driver side power seat, and lights on the speedo went out. Also if you are buying the GS with Pioneer unit, you will not like the CD changer that comes with it because its slow and skips way too much. also sound is not that great. I would suggest you to look for GS with Nakamichi system. before you buy a GS, just take it to a mechanic you can trust to see if there is any problems with the car.

Default Thanks...

Thanks, JZS147. I am pretty sure that the straight 6 is bulletproof, so I'll check the usual suspects for leaks, etc. The car I'm going to look at appears to be very clean from the photos I've seen and the asking price is quite reasonable assuming there are no major hidden defects. If I get the GS, it probably won't get any mods aside from cosmetic stuff because the fruits of labor and most of my money will be going into the AE86 restoration. I love that AE86 and it has taught me not to stray from Toyota lineage.
