Default Silver bulbs that flash different colors

Anyone know what I'm talking about here?

I think someone once posted a pic of one of these bulbs, i think the pic was from LLTek.com (an Audi tuner). Basically, the bulb is Silver/Chrome from the outside, but flashes various colors (you can get amber, red, etc. I suppose) The point of these bulbs is that if you have clear lenses, you won't have an ugly "dot" of color coming out, but the bulb would still flash a desired color.

Anyone have any idea about these?

Phillips Silver Vision

At least these are ones I've seen from my previous BMW ownership days. I'm sure there are other manfs for them.

Good luck.

Cool Dexter, thats exactly what I was looking for

I dug up some more stuff about Phillip Silver Visions from the Audiworld forum. I think right now, they are only released in Europe, under the size "PY21W."

They look like standard single filament 1156 bulbs to me.

Check this link:

http://www.autolamps-online.com/halogen/svpage.htm

That website is foreign but the only site that the Audi people seem to be purchasing. $23.50 for a pair.

Silver on the outside, flash amber when lit up.

Now, this is what I'm wondering: What size bulb is the rear turn signals? I don't have my manual with me or else I'd check that.

Thanks for the help

One word for ya Intellexual:

ebay

To find out more info, I'd actually do a search on www.bimmer.org.

I know a lot of those bimmer guys use 'em in their clears to get rid of that 'egg yolk' look.

They've got to be pretty standard as far as wattages for US vehicles.

Cool

Darn I was hoping it flashed different colors every time it blinked. That would be cool but not sure it would be legal.

Yeah, I think it is illegal to drive a Christmas tree, even here in NC!
