I replaced the Stearing pump on SC400 and found the process intutive and really did not need the manual. The only issue was finding the torques. Then again one can not get a torque wrench onto the banjo bolt.

Remember to buy the crush washers for banjo bolt.

There are service kits available for stearing pump.

So you need to decide:

Service kit.
After market stearing pump
Refurbished pump
New pump from dealer (most expensive choice).

Since minimum down time was required, I did not entertain the service kit option. The middle 2 were elimanted as people had mixed review (buy it/try it/return). So I opted for the last but saved on the labor.

Salim,

Gazi gave me a good deal on one so I am going used. It is used but I am sure it will work fine.

Did you get the crush washers from lexus or a hardware store? Do you remember the size by chance??

Thanks man,

Jonny

The pressure out pipe from pump needs two crushable washers which are connected and the thing looks like a "U" from side. This is definately a dealer part item. You can purchase two seperate washers but getting the bolt and the pressure pipe with washers on each end would be difficult. The "U" straddles the hose and it is lot convinient.

tip: Once you have everything put together, fill the psp fluid. To purge air you have to turn right (all the way) wait 30 secs and then left (all the way) wait 30 sec and repeat as necessary.

Salim,

Ahhh - now I remember. I actually replaced my return line so I remember these well. It is funny because the crush washers have different part numbers for each side yet they are identical.

I will tackle this next weekend. Thanks man
