I now have 130,200 miles on 2000 GS 400.
I questioned the same thing you did when I had 96K and was doing the 100K service to replace the timing belt/water, I went ahead and ordered the SRT Intake and added a TRD Tower Strut bar. After installation I was kicking myself for waiting so long. The V8 is fun to drive, but the intake just adds that fun element to it that it didn't have before. The noise is loud when you want it to be and virtually unnoticable at cruising speeds. Its fun passing people with their windows down and give it the juice b/c they all snap their heads around b/c they hear it.

With all that said, I have put it up for sale due to the non stoppable urge for a 2006 GS430 or 07 GS 350. I will probably kick myself again b/c I won't have the SRT intake on the new generation until after the factory warranty expires.

'98 gs with 247,000 miles!!! Figured I would keep it after it was paid off. Also a '99 gs400 with about 140,000 (wife's car) I feel both should last forever.

How's it handle, shift, and run after all those miles? Is it a bucket or still drive like it came off the factory floor?

My 1998 GS400 is at right about 130k now.
If that's all you guys are complaining about with cars that have over 100K miles that's not too bad.

Wow that's a long commute but if you're going to be spending that much time in a car it may as well be a GS right?

So have you had to do anything major to it in all that time? Ball joints? alternator? starter? door actuators....?

Oh I have 42,7xx on mine right now 2003 GS430 forgot to throw that up in my previous posts.

I rub that into my friends all the time. I know a guy that paid $17K for a new minivan and another guy that paid $18K for a new Hyundai. I paid $25K for my 2003 GS430 and I keep tellin them for a few thousand more they could have quadruple the car they bought
