Default New GS - Pics

Hi friends,

I'm new to GS, so when I first got inside the GS, I liked it so much that I bought one immediately (so I might have overpaid).
It's a 1998 GS300 - Black/black - 97K miles with all service records from Lexus dealer. Interior is really like new.

However, I notice the following the first few days -
- When I drive 70mph on freeway, the RPM is 3500 (40mph @ 2000RPM, 60mph @ 3000RPM). So why the RPM is so high (heard it is 5-sp automatic)
- And I don't know where to turn on the fog light

Default Welcome!

Don't know about why your rpm's are so high, but you can turn on the fogs to the right of the light switch?

Nice find and welcome to the club!

Front fogs--they are on the same stalk as the low beam dial, they are the dial just before the low beam dial, which form the tip of the stalk.

Thanks!
I'd really like to hear more from GS300 guys. I could feel like it should go to the final gear ... because there's quite a bit of power when I push it ...
I started in "3" and it really feels -1 gear (compared with "4") ...

Just to make sure that you didn't have it in 4 and not "D" right?
Will it be that high in 4 anyways? Maybe some other 300 owners can verify, but I'll check on that tomorrow.

Anyways, I'm doing 80 at 3000rpm.

Yeah, sounds like 4th gear to me as well, RPM's are way too high. Ensure you have the gearshift in the proper place, and enjoy the new car!
