Default Matching the Sport Design Dash...

I'm going to replace the stock head unit to an Alpine one soon and this will require an aftermarket dash kit to make the new head unit fit.

I wanted to match the silver of the sport design dash since it'll look kind of awkward with just the climate control being silver. Anyone have a good way of matchnig this? Any of those aftermarket aluminum dash kits match?

Thanks in advance...

nice car. I just saw your pics in other thread.

how about getting a black climate control to match your new deck? you could also probably sell the silver deck and cc together.

Thanks,
I like your car with the 06 wheels alot.

I thought about your idea also but I like the silver dash. It's one of those few things that sets the Sport Designs apart so I'd like to somehow keep it. I may have to just pay a body shop to paint it if I want to do it right

Probably best thing to do.... That way you don't have to mess with it

I have an 03 Sport Design. I am going to phurchase a used climate control, remove my original silver radio and climate contol... then prime / paint the new dash kit along with the used climate control I just purchased. I am either going to do a gloss black or match the factory silver. I think the gloss black would look better because I plan on getting a Pioneer unit and in my opinion the entire dash would flow better is everything was black, no sense in painting your kit silver and he climate control silver only to put a black radio smack in the middle of it all...

They key is to prime and paint both pieces at the same time...

This sounds like a good plan.

Whether you or a shop you paint it does not matter as much. Doing them both is better for matching purposes.

Rather than use an aftermarket kit, I'd recommend the Toyota Japan
kit: it comes with the ISO mounting brackets and trim facia.

I'd just have a body shop paint both pieces so they match;
as far as I know the panel only comes in the charcoal finish
that the regular GS has (not silver).

Perfect fitment for a double-DIN unit (I hate flip-out units).
You can get it from Carson Toyota, an approved ClubLexus vendor!.
