I have a 2001 Lexus gs430 - i lost my master key and only have my valet key - it will open the doors and turn on the car but it wont allow me to start the car. How do i do this without shelling out 600 bux to get a new computer and master key? desperate!!!

Bummer dude. You've even got the wrong valet key. The valet key should start the car, it just won't open any of the locked compartments, glove box, trunk, etc. You must have the 3rd key available for Lexus. All it will do is open the doors and trunk, just in case you accidentally locked you keys inside. You can try a lock smith or a Lexus dealership, but I think you're going to have to bite the bullet. Find that lost Master key!!!

 

Your valet key probably doesn't have the chip necessary to start the engine. It's pretty innovative if you ask me, someone could just make a copy of your key and get in but they won't be able to start the engine. Bummer for you though. Nothing you can do without that chip.
