Whats up everyone,

Got a Question for ya. I have reacently bought my GS300 and noticed that when the engine is cool it idles at around 1200 rpm. When i shift it into gear it drops down to around 700-800 which seems about right.

Anyone have an idea why it idles so high at first? Could it be MAF, or spark plugs maybe?

Any help is much appreciated.

It should be that way, nothing weird about this

 

All new cars have a high idle when you first start it up (cold motor). This is perfectly normal. It will rev a little higher so the car warms up quicker and flows the fluids around.

 

You will find it run a little higher RPM than that when in the cold, quite normal as mentioned.
