Thumbs up Quick Update

Hey guys, I just wanna update you all on key needed for the remote start install. I had my Viper alarm/remote start installed today and all what was needed was the valet key. So I was able to keep my two existing keys with the chip in it. Both alarm and remote start are working fine. I appreciate the help and websites you provided. THANX!!!

Personally, I wouldn't leave a key in my car unless I grinded it down so that theives couldn't find the key and drive away in my car.

A better option is the DEI bypass 555x that someone mentions above. Its this little box that you hook up in conjunction with an alarm.

After you install the bypass, You stick your key in the ignition and program the immobilizer's signal into the box. The good part is that the bypass only works with the remote start.

That's because when you wire the bypass up, its also connected to the negative output that alarm puts out when its trying to start the car.

So no negative output from the alarm= no immobilizer signal to the car's ECU.

Hope that clears some things up.
