I've seen several people selling the 01+ clusters. What's the difference? I looked at some fague pictures, and they seem to be the same.

Also when you switch, does your odo stay the same? Isn't the "clocker" inside the cluster itself?

It is just the cover, not the whole cluster. The 98-00 has interior color matched finish. The 01+ is black with silver rings around the 3 openings. The turn signals placement was also changed, in my case, for the better. In the 98-00, with my steering wheel location, I had a hard time seeing the turn signals.

Get the 400 and put $10K in your pocket.

Change out your taillights, tint your windows and no one knows the difference.

Talking 4.0L 1UZ All the Way!!!

I'm biased too. Also, spend some of that money, you'll save getting the GS4, on a 2800 PI TC that you can't put in a 430. Not to mention S&S headers, and the 3.76 LSD. You'll be very happy and still have money left over for mods.

Never heard of water repellant glass, but that can be done with a coat of RainX.

My GS400 has side air bags.

^ actually, it's true. the GS 01+ has water repellent glass. the windows all also say Lexus instead of Toyota. there was also the addition of side curtain airbags in 01.....

Exterior changes include water-repellent front door glass, a new grille with a bigger "L" badge, revised taillights, larger exhaust pipes with stainless-steel tips and new six-spoke alloy wheels. HID headlights are standard. Inside, steering wheel controls for the audio system come standard, a compass has been added and a new DVD-based navigation system is optional.

This is sound advice. I had a 98 gs400 and nobody would believe them when I told them what year it was. I had the newer taillights and some decent mods like mentioned above. I was very happy with getting SOO much car for my money that I never once though oh man I wish I had the 02 or something like that. There's justnot that much of a differnece to pay so much more for the 430 imo.
