This topic seems to come up a lot so I threw together some pictures of the menus to clear up any confusion.

Diagnostics Menu (Japanese)
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Turn the headlights switch to the OFF position.
3. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
4. With your right hand, press and hold the CLIMATE and AUDIO buttons down.
5. With your left hand, turn the parking lights ON and then BACK off THREE times.
6. The navigation screen will display the image below.
It's not very useful because it's all in japanese but it basically is checking each unit in the system (Display, Navigation ECU, etc.) and returning "OK" or the error code if one exists.
The left button clears any codes that may be present. The right button re-runs the checks.

Now, press and hold the OVERRIDE button until it turns GREEN.
This prevents the navigation system from disabling any buttons while the car is moving. So now your passenger can enter Destinations, etc. while you are still driving.

"GPS" menu option
The "P" and "T" under the Status column seems to reflect the type of connection you have with that satelitte.
Under Measurement Status you see it's currently in 3D mode. If you are connected to less satelittes, that may drop down to 2D mode which is less accurate and will cause your position to be off if you are travelling through a hilly area.

"Loading" menu
WARNING! I strongly suggest you do NOT mess with anything in this screen. From what I've read it may reload some data from the DVD into the ROM and it will cause your unit to stop working. Others have reported costly repairs to have the dealership reflash the ROM with the correct files.

"Location" information
I've reset each of these options before with out any side effects. The system relearns the values fairly quickly.

"Set Time" screen
Not sure why this would be needed. The time and date are automatically updated from the GPS satelitte. It may be useful if your GPS antenna is broken and you still want to use the Calendar or Service reminder features.

Now if you already agreed to the disclaimer and then want to put the navigation into Override, do this:
With the car stopped, press the Menu button and then press "DVD" in the top right corner. The car has to be stopped otherwise the "DVD" button will be grayed out.

Now, you're probably wondering: What if I'm driving and I want to get into the Override mode and I don't want to pull over and stop?
Here's the answer:
1. Press the Info button to get to the Information Menu.
2. Press the Language option to get back to the disclaimer.
3. Follow the directions starting in post #3 (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...68&postcount=3)
