Could be a fuse.

Good advise, will check the fuse. But do you think this will affect only one door lock? The other three work properly. Appreciate any advise offered.

if the other 3 doors work its probally not a fuse, but could be a regulator/accuator that need repair or replacing.

I'm actually experiencing the same thing with my rear right passenger door. But I'm under warranty so it's covered. I have an appointment this friday at the dealer. I'll let you know what they tell me.

its probably the actuator, mine went out a few weeks ago. I ordered one from carson's for my 98 gs300. it was $215 with shipping. when i called a lexus dealership in new york, they quoted me $350+.

It is most likely a power doorlock actuator failure. It is very common with the Lexus GS which unfortunately Lexus has ignored and has not properly addressed this problem. I have it on my passenger side and I have been quoted over $500 to fix. There maybe some cheaper ways like ordering from Carlson Toyota or using a aftermarket alarm actuator. I would suggest you contact Lexus corporate and notify them of it. I believe it is 1-800-25-LEXUS. They did not help me at all when mine went and I was only 2 months past warranty and tried to say it was not common and my experience was pretty unique but if enough people call they may do the right thing and offer out of warranty fixes. Good luck and it is disapointing that we have to deal with this expensive design defect that was never addressed from a company like Lexus.

You guys are great. Thanks for all the input. Doorlock actuator probably is the problem. Will work on it.

Took my car in on Friday to the dealer. It took them about an hour to diagnose the problem maybe because I also asked them to look at the steering because it feels loose on the highway, but I didn't mind they always treat me good when I go in for service. So they finally call me back to the service department to fill me in. It was the actuator. I'm not sure how much it would cost exactly because as the service guy started telling me the price $500+ I cut him off to let him know that it was a CPO and that it wasn't coming out of my pocket. So thank GOD this is covered under warranty. Oh and btw, they told me that my rims is what's causing the loose feeling in the steering.
