Would I be able to replace the Factory Navigation with an aftermarket Double Din unit? If I can would I just get the A/C controls from a NON navi system or how would I go about getting my A/C controls to work. Please help. Its a 98 GS400 with Factory Navi

 

Im really not sure how that would work.. the connectors on the back may be the same, and you may be able to hook up a factory a/c control panel to it, but ive never had anyone do that before.. so it might be an experiment. If you get rid of your factory nav unit, id love to have it.. all my buttons are worn off, and i need a replacement

 

i dont know about swapping it out but i do know theirs things you can do to be able to play DVD's and use the Navi while your driving... instead of going to a double din unit.

 

is there any upgrades for the 98-00 navi so it can be updated to the 01-up cd rom ones?

To remove the navigation, all you really need to do is unplug the LCD display unit and plug in an OEM one without navi. Now just leave the navi plugs unplugged.
